WordPress Developer – Freelance (Part-Time)

At Luca , we’re building the next generation of learning tools for Latin America. While our core product is AI-driven and platform-based, we also care deeply about presenting ourselves with clean, high-performance websites that reflect our brand.

We’re looking for an experienced WordPress Developer for a freelance part-time project focused on site redesign, performance optimization, and SEO best practices. If you're a detail-oriented developer with a sharp eye for frontend performance and modern UX standards, this role is for you.

Website Redesign

Collaborate with our UI / UX designer to bring visuals to life
Build a user-friendly interface with smooth navigation

Performance Optimization

Use lightweight, optimized themes

Reduce unnecessary dependencies

Optimize scripts, images, and overall load speed

Plugin Management

Audit and minimize plugin usage

Remove redundant plugins and replace with custom code if needed

Build custom WordPress functions when appropriate

Security & Anti-Spam

Configure anti-spam protections and bot defenses

Apply basic WordPress security measures

SEO Optimization

Set up proper meta tags , sitemaps, and robots.txt

Integrate Google Analytics and Search Console

Ensure high scores on Lighthouse and PageSpeed Insights

Proven experience building and optimizing WordPress websites

Mastery of themes , plugin customization , and core functionality

Strong skills in :

Using lightweight WordPress themes

Implementing and analyzing Lighthouse / PageSpeed

SEO tools and anti-spam integrations

Git and staging environments

Independent and reliable

Communicates clearly and technically

Prioritizes simple, efficient solutions

Has a portfolio of optimized WordPress sites

Freelance , part-time basis

Self-managed work with clear milestones

Fully remote , async collaboration with our core team

Flexible schedule as long as deadlines are met
