Design and Release Engineer-Powertrain

The DRE is responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and release of powertrain systems . Other responsibilities include development and validation of assigned components, communicating technical product status, and competitor benchmarking to management. The individual will coordinate packaging with all adjacent departments and work with virtual validation groups to ensure CAE scorecard compliance and manufacturing feasibility. The role also involves maintaining and updating DVP&R, DFMEA, and supporting supplier quality actions and VO activities. The engineer must support meetings during NA work hours and collaborate closely with local engineering teams, Architecture / Vehicle Concepts, program science teams, and PDO to align packaging, functional objectives, and system requirements.

This position is permanent remote work with occasional travel. Candidates must reside in and be legally authorized to work in Mexico.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Electric, Electro-mechanical, etc.)
• At least one year of experience in the automotive industry as a Product Engineer or related role
• Design experience with electronic modules, support brackets, internal combustion engines, electric motors, power electronic accessories, and surrounding components
• Experience with Catia V5, NX, Teamcenter, DFMEA, DVP&R, and validation plans
• Availability to travel occasionally
• Advanced English (B2 / C1)
